Annual Compliance Plan
The EPA's annual Compliance Plan 2016–17 forms a significant part of a suite of corporate documents. It is aligned with key focus areas represented in such documents as the Strategic Directions 2015–18, Corporate Plan 2016–17, South Australian Government Priorities, Partnerships and Engagement Framework 2016–18 and High Performance Framework.
The plan includes our core regulatory work that positions us alongside businesses authorised through the Environment Protection Act 1993 and Radiation Protection and Control Act 1982.
Our intervention activities extend to non-licensed businesses, households and the broader community. Targeted interventions have been guided by evidence-based systems and are identified within key focus areas, including waste management, site contamination, urban industry and infrastructure and also include areas where we are investing in providing an efficient regulatory environment that encourages compliance.
The plan also outlines the EPA’s principles that will guide it through its compliance and enforcement approach, that is proportional, transparent, targeted and timely.
