Yalumba Wine Company Environment Improvement Practices and Sustainable Winemaking
Yalumba was the first Australian wine company to participate in the Greenhouse Challenge scheme and also to become a signatory to the National Packaging Covenant.
The company continues to work in partnership with the EPA to maintain successful, sustainable and environmentally friendly business practices.
As a result of this proactive relationship building, Yalumba and 10 of its suppliers were chosen by the EPA in 2001 to participate in a joint initiative, the Greener Business Alliance project. >> More
Industry Environmental Improvement Project in the Kilburn and Gepps Cross area
In response to community concern, the EPA undertook air quality monitoring, an odour survey and an audit of 15 sites licensed by the EPA in the Kilburn and Gepps Cross area during 2005 and 2006.
The project has helped to identify potential areas for improved performance by local industry that may reduce impacts on the local environment. >> More
