Householders can bring their waste to the Household Hazardous Waste Depot operated by Zero Waste SA.
Paint, varnish, sealants and adhesives which have solidified can be disposed of in normal rubbish.

Wastes from businesses and government agencies will not be accepted. Such wastes may be disposed of by commercial waste treatment companies.
Farmers/hobby farmers and primary producers should dispose of unwanted agricultural chemicals through the industry based and funded ChemClear.
The management of hazardous waste, in particular the generation, handling, storage, treatment and disposal of such waste, has centred on sustainable development and, in particular, the adoption of cleaner production principles from 'end-of-pipe solutions to waste avoidance.
Under the Environment Protection (Waste to Resources) Policy 2010 (W2R EPP), from September 2010 hazardous waste is banned from being disposed of to landfill in metropolitan Adelaide and all regional and remote areas of South Australia.
The W2R EPP should be seen as an instrument to stimulate individuals and industry to change the way that they view hazardous waste, and in particular its generation.
Individuals should employ a waste avoidance approach to hazardous waste generation and strive to be innovative and view the elimination of such waste as good economic, social and environmental practice.
Medical waste also has specific licensing and management requirements.
