The Desert Froglet is similar in most respects to the Eastern Signbearing Froglet, from which it differs in its smaller average size (less than 20 mm), more robust hindlimbs and pale, unspotted belly and warty skin. The skin colour is mostly a pale grey with complex, triangular and rectangular markings on the back.
