The Hill River, near Andrews is reasonably diverse with more than 110 aquatic invertebrates collected from this site between 1994 and 2004. However, most of those found in the Hill River are commonly found in South Australian inland waters.

The dragonfly Hemianax papuensis can often be found at this site amongst the stands of reeds that surround the river. These dragonflies are amongst the largest insect predators that can be found in inland waters.
