Draft guidelines for groundwater investigation and monitoring for landfills
These Guidelines (208KB PDF) have been produced to advise proponents, developers, operators and licensees of landfill sites (and their environmental consultants) on methods for monitoring groundwater at landfill sites. They provide information on the desktop study, field investigations, monitoring, review, risk assessment and data management processes that are required for monitoring how landfills affect groundwater.
Comments are sought on the Guidelines, including areas that you believe could be improved. To assist us in reviewing your comments and improving the Guidelines, please:
- identify issue/s of concern and reference the relevant section/s and page number/s in the guideline
- succinctly provide information regarding your issue/s of concern
- provide suggestions on how your issue/s of concern could be addressed
- provide any other information that you deem necessary to be included or excluded from the guideline.

How to submit your comments
You must first register
with the forum to be able to post your comments. Click on the
'register' button towards the top right of the forum
screen and follow the prompts. Please complete all fields so we
can contact you should we have any questions regarding your comments
and so we can advise you when the final version is released. Your
e-mail address will only be viewable by the forum administrator
(EPA).
Each consultation draft has been broken down into key areas and
you may comment on as many or as few clauses as you wish. Click
through the forum topics until you find the area you would like
to comment on. Then click on 'reply to topic', or use the 'quick
reply' box at the bottom of the screen. At any time before the
end of the consultation period you may edit your comments. To
do this click on the 'edit post' button .
Your posts will only be visible to the forum administrator (EPA)
and yourself. At the end of the consultation period all comments,
and our responses, may be made available on the EPA web site.
Restricted access papers
The EPA sometimes seeks comments on public consultation drafts
from a closed group. Request for comments will be by invitation
only. If you have received an invitation it will state your username
and password - there is no need to register.
You must log in using the username and password supplied before
the appropriate topic and supporting documents will be visible.
