Common Name: Predacious Diving Beetle

There have been 115 aquatic invertebrates collected from Kankaya Creek at the old Kanayaka ruins between 1994 and 2004. Many of these invertebrates have adapted to the slightly saline water of creek.

One of these is the predacious diving beetle Necterosoma penicillatus, which is commonly found in brackish to saline streams.
