Adelaide Hills winter air quality

EPA air quality monitoring has revealed that air quality levels
in the Adelaide Hills region were acceptable during the 2007 winter
months. The monitoring was conducted in the Woodside area between
early June and late October 2007 as part of the EPA's SmokeWatch
program to assess the impacts of wood smoke.

The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has praised dairy
farmers from Myponga to Mount Pleasant for their efforts in complying
with EPA guidelines on effluent management following the release
of a report on audits of local dairy farms.

The EPA, industry, the community, the catchment water management
boards, and the Cities of Port Adelaide Enfield and Salisbury
are working together to implement a Water Quality Improvement
Plan for the Port Adelaide Waterways and improve the environment.
Uranium Expert Joins EPA Board,
Released: 11 March 2004
An independent consultant and academic who has extensive experience
in the uranium mining industry has joined the Environment Protection
Authority Board. Minister for Environment and Conservation John
Hill said the appointment of Victor Farrington to the Board gives
it greater access to advice on issues related to uranium mining
and radioactive waste.

Waterwatch SA has a new interactive website offering users an
insight into the fun-filled water monitoring and education program.
Dairy farmer fined,
Released: 19 February 2004
Myponga dairy farmer Shannon Kernick was recently fined $5000
in the Environment, Resources and Development Court (ERD) for
allowing dairy effluent to escape from a milking shed into a roadside
stormwater drain, and potentially into a watercourse within Adelaides
water supply catchment area.
