The requirements for reporting to the NPI have changed. Make
yourself aware of the changes and their impact by reading the
'Changes to the National Pollutant Inventory in South Australia' (112KB PDF)
brochure.
The variation to the national legislation resulted in various
changes including new substances and new thresholds. A copy of
the National Environment Protection Measure (NEPM) is available
from the Environment Protection and Heritage Council (EPHC) website.
In addition, penalties can now be applied in South Australia
if a NPI report is not submitted, submitted late or does not contain
the required information. The state legislation, the Environment
Protection (National Pollutant Inventory) Policy has been
updated to reflect the changes to the NPI NEPM and to include
mandatory provisions.
