Common Name: Stonefly

Rocky River is quite diverse with more than 160 aquatic invertebrates collected from this site between 1994 and 2004. Many invertebrates collected from this site are typically collected from cool, flowing streams with some having distributions restricted to Kangaroo Island and the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Stoneflies are common in cool, flowing streams like Rocky River and are indicative of good water quality. Four species of stoneflies have been collected from Rocky River.
