Chlorophyll (a) was classified as poor and oxidised nitrogen classified as moderate at Semaphore. This is most likely due a combination of effluent from the Bolivar WWTP, heavy industries in the Port River and urban stormwater adding nutrients, which promote algal growth.

Heavy metals were classified as good, which is an improvement from the last period where they were classified as poor. This is likely to be due to less runoff from urban areas due to the warmer months.

Chlorophyll (a) (an indicator of algae) was classified as poor at Semaphore. This is most likely due a combination of effluent from the Bolivar WWTP, heavy industries in the Port River and urban stormwater promoting algal growth.

Heavy metals were classified as poor, which is most likely due to urban runoff containing heavy metals washed off roads and galvanised iron roofs.
