Waste to Resources Policy guidelines

Under the Environment Protection (Waste to Resources) Policy 2010 (W2R EPP), suitable waste from metropolitan Adelaide must be subject to resource recovery processes prior to disposal to landfill from 1 September 2012. Certain materials are also generally banned from disposal to landfill under the W2R EPP. Have your say on the guidance materials necessary for the effective administration of these new requirements.

Emailed submissions are preferred. Comments to be sent to:

Waste derived fill specification 2012

In January 2010 the EPA published the Standard for the production and use of waste derived fill (the standard). Since then, the EPA has continued to receive and review feedback received from industry and the wider community regarding its implementation. It has become evident during implementation that further clarity is required regarding acceptable inclusions for some waste materials and the point at which the material becomes a product.

The EPA has developed the Waste derived fill specification 2012 which will replace the standard as the publication applying under clause 4(a) of the Environment Protection (Waste to Resources) Policy 2010 (Policy).

Should you wish to provide comment on the specification please address your submission to Andrew Evans.

Lake Bonney Environmental Values

Have your say to help remediate the health of the lake for future generations to enjoy. The EPA will be visiting Mount Gambier on Wednesday 30 May, to meet with the community and ask what their desired future uses for the water of Lake Bonney and its surrounds will be. The EPA welcomes community members to attend a public meeting:

Wednesday 30 May, 1900-2100
Dress Circle, Level 1, Main Corner, Watson Terrace, Mount Gambier

Alternately, bearing in mind the present poor but improving conditions in the lake for each of the Environmental Values, ask yourself whether you would like to see the water quality in Lake Bonney SE improve so that it could be used for this purpose or similar. Fill out a feedback form and email or send to:
