EPA presents at Dairy SA workshop

Earlier this year the EPA participated in a series of Dairy SA organised workshops held in Hahndorf and the Lower South East to assist farmers in understanding the value of managing dairy farm effluent on their properties.
The sessions were held in collaboration with Agriculture Victoria and the EPA.
The EPA’s Senior Environment Protection Officer, David Palmer, provided specialist advice to dairy farmers in relation to planning and development applications, the role of the EPA, EPA legislation and guidelines, and landholder and dairy manager responsibilities.
Altogether about 40 landowners and managers attended the two workshops.
Mr Palmer said that feedback from attendees indicated very positive responses to the content discussed and the quality of the presentations.
