Somerton Park
The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is commencing an environmental assessment in Somerton Park in June 2023.
Information recently provided to the EPA has identified chemicals (chlorinated hydrocarbons) in the groundwater and soil vapour (the air spaces within the soil) at a nearby site.
The EPA is undertaking an environmental assessment to understand if there is a risk that contaminated groundwater or soil vapour is impacting nearby residential properties.
When the report is available, the community will be notified of the results. The EPA will work with any impacted residents prior to the report finalisation.
